He has
expertise in the following areas:- public law,
judicial review, care standards (residential and
non-residential), mental health, education,
community care, social services, health service
powers and duties, local government powers,
human rights and coroners' inquests. He has
appeared in a wide range of different courts and
tribunals and is used to acting for a wide range
of clients (individuals, providers, regulators,
corporate and public bodies).
Family Law
His practice
includes children
(care proceedings and private law), adoption,
abduction, fostering, learning disabilities,
inherent jurisdiction, human rights and judicial
review. He is very well used to dealing both
with local authorities and with clients under
extreme stress. He has extensive trial
experience of disputed cases on interpersonal
disagreements, complex expert evidence (both
medical and non-medical), disputed illness,
fatalities and serious injuries, intergenerational
disputes, education, conflicting cultures and
divergent religious beliefs.
